Four-Year-Old Struck While Riding Bike in Linden

LINDEN, NJ – Police responded to the intersection of E. St. George Ave & Roselle St at approximately 7:25 a.m. on reports of a serious motor vehicle crash involving a bicycle.

According to preliminary reports, a 32-year-old Linden man and his 4-year-old son were riding a bicycle on Roselle St across E. St. George Ave toward Chestnut St when they were struck by a vehicle as it made a left turn onto E. St. George Ave. The boy was seriously injured in the crash. He was transported to Newark University Hospital where he remains in critical condition. The father also suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with Police.

The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau. E. St. George Ave is closed northbound between Roselle St & Bower St.
