FREDERICK, MD – Tawny Barnwell of Frederick is celebrating a $540,000 Multi-Match jackpot win, thanks to a $2 quick-pick ticket. Her joyful scream of disbelief after checking her tickets at midnight woke up her husband and marked the start of a life-changing day.

Tawny discovered her good fortune when she matched all the winning numbers in the June 20 drawing. “I looked at it. I looked at it and I kept looking at it. I couldn’t believe it,” she said, describing her astonishment at the jackpot win. Tawny is a regular Multi-Match player and relied on the terminal to pick the numbers for her $4 ticket.

The Frederick County resident plans to use her prize money to buy a new house and spend some of the funds on her grandchildren. An avid Orioles fan and fishing enthusiast, she also dreams of purchasing a boat to enhance her leisure activities.

Tawny bought the winning ticket at the Mt. Airy Exxon, located at 4400 Mill Bottom Road in Frederick County. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus and a promotional banner for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
