FRONT ROYAL, VA — Brandon Jones was left in disbelief after learning he had won $100,000 in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. Jones, a security officer from Front Royal, is one of seven second-tier winners in the annual drawing held on January 1.

Jones purchased his lucky ticket, #404211, at the 7-Eleven located on Winchester Road in Marshall. Initially, he couldn’t believe his good fortune, thinking he must have entered the wrong numbers. His ticket was among the seven $100,000 winners, with others sold in Amelia, Charlottesville, Midlothian, Tazewell, Woodstock, and Yorktown. Additionally, 1,000 tickets each won $500, while five tickets secured the $1 million top prize in Ashburn, Fishersville, Henrico, Herndon, and Moneta.

Jones plans to use his winnings to pay bills and support his family. Virginia Lottery profits benefit K-12 education, with Warren County receiving over $3.7 million in Lottery funds last year. Statewide, the Lottery raised more than $934 million for education in Fiscal Year 2024, contributing approximately 10 percent to Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.
