Ft. Lauderdale man wins $1 million on lottery scratch-off

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – Florida Lottery player Jay Wein, of Ft. Lauderdale, has claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game.

Wein opted to receive his prize as a lump-sum payment of $820,000 at the Lottery’s Miami District Office. The winning ticket was purchased from Smiley Food & Deli located in Ft. Lauderdale, which will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game, priced at $50, offers players the opportunity to win a top prize of $25 million, the largest ever offered on a Florida Scratch-Off game.

The game also has the best odds of becoming an instant millionaire, with overall odds of winning at 1-in-4.50.
