Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the extradition of Anthony Regis-Ash, who fled to Trinidad and Tobago after allegedly killing 18-year-old Sharif Richards in 2021. Regis-Ash, who was brought back to Brooklyn, faces murder charges along with additional charges against his girlfriend, Amari Harvey, who was arrested in 2022.
Regis-Ash, formerly of Brooklyn and now 24, was arraigned on Monday before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Donald Leo. He faces charges of two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree attempted robbery, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Held without bail, Regis-Ash is scheduled to return to court on February 7.
Amari Harvey was arrested at JFK Airport on January 5, 2022, while attempting to board a flight to Trinidad and Tobago. She is charged with second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree attempted robbery and is held on $1 million cash bail or $2 million bond.
