Fugitive New Jersey Porch Pirate Who Assaulted Cop in Custody

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – Ebony Gomez, 31, from Jacksonville, FL, was arrested on December 11 by the U.S. Marshal Service in Monroe Township for multiple offenses, including package theft and assaulting a police officer. The arrest follows a series of package thefts in Gloucester Township on December 1 and 2.

Surveillance footage captured a white Dodge Journey at several residences where packages were stolen. Gomez, identified as the vehicle’s occupant, posed as a delivery driver to deceive a resident before continuing her thefts. On December 8, when police attempted to apprehend her, she fled with unrestrained children in her vehicle. During a subsequent encounter, she injured a Gloucester Township Police Officer with her vehicle.

Gomez faces charges including second-degree eluding, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault against law enforcement, and third-degree theft of movable property. Following her arrest, she was transferred to Gloucester Township Police for further investigation and then remanded to Camden County Jail.
