Fugitive on the run captured 5 years after committing his crime in Athens

ATHENS, TX – The Athens Police Department captured a fugitive who had been avoiding arrest for five years Tuesday morning.APD arrested Dwight Fitzpatrick, 26, of Cayuga in the 900 block of Baraba Street in Athens, where officers served a 5-year-old warrant out of Anderson County.

Fitzpatrick was hiding in the attic when officers located him.

Fitzpatrick is wanted for Assault Family Violence Impede Breath/Circulation: Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled with the Intent to Cause Bodily Injury. He was arrested and taken to Henderson County Jail.
