Fugitive Wanted for Murder Arrested by Columbus SWAT

COLUMBUS, OH — Columbus Police patrol officers responded to a reported shooting on October 17, around 1:54 am in the 2600 block of Divot Place. They discovered Anthony Cato on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Cato was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After an investigation, Columbus Police issued an arrest warrant on December 13, 2023, for Keith M. Hairston, charging him with murder in connection to the incident. Hairston was arrested the same evening by Columbus Police SWAT personnel.

The police urge anyone with information about this case to contact the Columbus Police Homicide Unit or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers. Detective R. Weiner, assisted by Detective L. Titus, leads the investigation.
