Fugitive Wanted for Violent Carjacking of Woman in Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who assaulted a victim and carjacked her moped on August 13, 2024.

At approximately 2 p.m., the victim sat on her moped waiting for her food order in the 400 block of Central Avenue. The suspect ran from across the street and assaulted the victim, causing her to fall off the moped.

A second suspect got on the moped and drove east on Central Avenue. The suspect who assaulted the victim fled on foot in the same direction. He is described as a Black male wearing a black shirt, pants, sneakers, and a yellow and orange high-visibility jacket.
