MISSION, Texas –U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Anzalduas International Bridge apprehended Lorenzo Gomez Guerra, a male lawful permanent resident from San Juan, Texas who has an arrest warrant associated with a child-related alleged sex crime.
“CBP Field Operations is always ready to assist our law enforcement partners in locating those wanted persons with outstanding warrants, especially those allegedly involved in heinous crimes of a sexual nature with children,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.
On July 20, 2021, the 39-year-old man arrived from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge and a CBP officer immediately secured him after discovering Gomez was a possible match to an arrest warrant. Once in secondary, CBP officers confirmed his identity along with the active arrest warrant from San Juan Police Department. Gomez faces an outstanding arrest warrant on felony state charges of indecency with a child.
A McAllen Police Department officer and US Marshal deputy arrived to take custody of Gomez and transported him to the county jail.
Criminal charges are merely allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
