GAITHERSBURG, MD – A Gaithersburg resident, accompanied by his brother, visited the Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim a $39,029 prize won in Racetrax, a computer-simulated horse racing game.

The Montgomery County man, who regularly plays Racetrax with his brother, experienced his first major win. He expressed a mix of surprise and excitement about the significant prize. Plans for a family celebration to commemorate his lottery luck are underway.

The winning Superfecta bet predicted that horses numbered 12, 8, 3, and 5 would finish in that exact order. The bet, played across 15 drawings at $1 each, struck gold in the 13th race. The lucky wager was placed at Giant #135, located at 3860 International Drive in Silver Spring.

For selling the winning ticket, Giant #135 will receive a $390.29 bonus, which is 1% of the prize amount, as per Lottery rules for retailers selling winning tickets of $10,000 or more. This win adds to the growing list of Racetrax winners in Maryland.
