German shepherd found wandering in Leonia as police seek owner

Leonia, NJ – The Leonia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in reuniting a lost German shepherd with its owner after the dog was found in the southeast section of town on Thursday.

The department posted on social media that the dog was safely secured and is being cared for while officials search for its home. Police did not provide details on whether the dog had tags or a microchip.

Residents who recognize the animal or may know the owner are urged to contact the Leonia Police Department at (201) 944-0800.

One phone call could bring this shepherd back home.
