MASSILLON, OH — A grocery store stop in Massillon turned into a major payday for one lucky player, who won a $1 million top prize in the Ohio Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off game.
The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Eagle #4152, located at 2032 East Lincoln Way. The winner selected the $500,000 cash option and will receive approximately $360,000 after federal and state tax withholdings.
The VIP Millions game, priced at $50 per ticket, still has 31 top prizes remaining, according to the Ohio Lottery. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 4.02.
As part of the sale, the Giant Eagle store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus.
The Ohio Lottery has provided more than $33 billion to education statewide since its inception in 1974.
