SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – A Glens Falls man, Vito E. Caselnova, has been arraigned yesterday on an eight-count sealed indictment, which includes charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Possession of a Firearm in a Sensitive Location, and Menacing in the Second Degree. The charges stem from an incident on November 20, 2022, in the City of Saratoga Springs.

The Saratoga County Grand Jury investigated the incident, taking the testimony of many law enforcement agencies, local citizens, and reviewing substantial evidence. District Attorney Karen A. Heggen praised the work of the investigators and prosecutors, noting that it was necessary to gather as much evidence as possible before allowing the Grand Jury to make an informed decision.

Heggen also criticized Saratoga Springs Public Safety Commissioner Montagnino and Mayor Kim for releasing two short video clips at a press conference 10 hours after the shooting, which was based on speculation rather than evidence. Caselnova has been arraigned and is awaiting trial.
