Governor Murphy declares “New Jersey Football Week” after bodies of slain troops return home

This weekend, the bodies of America’s fallen Marines, soldiers, and sailors killed in last Thursday’s terror attack in Kabul arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

On Monday, when Governor Phil Murphy returned to work, he cleared this week, “New Jersey Football Week”.

“152 years after college football began right here at Rutgers University, I’m proud to declare August 30th – September 5th as New Jersey Football Week. Wishing good luck to Rutgers Football and Coach Greg Schiano, and to our high school players as they Rumble on the Raritan! #CHOP,” Murphy declared.

Maybe this week could have been “New Jersey terror victim remembrance week” or “New Jersey military appreciation week”.

No, it’s New Jersey Football Week. Happy New Jersey Football Week.
