Governor Murphy Puts Way in Charge of State While He Politics With National Democrats

TRENTON, NJ — Governor Phil Murphy is set to leave New Jersey for an out-of-state trip to attend the Democratic Governors Association meeting. The Governor’s office announced that he would depart on Thursday, April 4, and is scheduled to return on Sunday morning, April 7.

During Governor Murphy’s absence, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, referred to here as Lieutenant Governor Way, will step in as Acting Governor. This temporary transition of duties ensures that the state’s executive responsibilities continue uninterrupted while Governor Murphy is away.
