Greenbelt Police Arrest Two Teenagers for Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft

GREENBELT, MD – On Tuesday, at approximately 10:26 am, Greenbelt Police officers responded to the 8000 block of Mandan Rd after receiving a report of two teenagers wearing ski masks attempting to break into a red Hyundai.

Following a brief foot chase, the officers arrested a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy for attempted motor vehicle theft and malicious destruction of property

. The teenagers were found with tools commonly used to steal cars and property from vehicles.

The arrests were made possible due to vigilant community members reporting suspicious behavior. Greenbelt Police remind citizens to report any suspicious activity by saying, “If you see something, say something.”
