Group of teens rob Cambridge man sitting on his front porch at gunpoint

CAMBRIDGE, MD – Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place on Academy Street on Friday as a man sitting on his front porch.

At approximately 7:53 pm, Cambridge Police Department officers responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 700 block of Academy St.

A Hispanic male victim stated that a group of six unknown male juveniles, dressed in white shirts or hooded sweatshirts approached him while sitting on his porch.

The suspects asked him for money, and he gave them $20. The suspects then moved to the front of the house and returned to the porch, where one of the juveniles brandished a small black handgun and pointed it at the victim, demanding more money.

The victim did not provide any more money, and the suspects fled the area on foot. CPD officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing, and CPD is asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-228-3333. Witnesses can remain anonymous.
