Gunman and accomplice sought after armed carjacking at 63rd Street and Banks Place NE

WASHINGTON, DC — A pair of suspects, one armed with a handgun, carried out a violent carjacking late Monday night at the intersection of 63rd Street and Banks Place NE, prompting a citywide lookout and reward offer.

The crime occurred around 10 p.m., when two Black male suspects confronted a victim and stole their vehicle. Investigators said one of the suspects was armed with a black handgun during the robbery.

No injuries were immediately reported, and the stolen vehicle’s description has not been released.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. Police warned the public not to approach the suspects.
