Gunfire damages home and vehicle in Utica, no injuries reported

UTICA, N.Y. — Utica Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning after a Shot Spotter alert led officers to 740 Rutger Street.

According to the department, officers responded to the area around 1:50 a.m. on June 8 and discovered multiple bullet casings in the roadway. A house and vehicle in the area had been struck several times.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Utica Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case and is asking anyone with information to contact them at (315) 223-3556.

Police have not released any suspect information or motive related to the shooting.
