Gunfire in North Philadelphia: Man shot in knee able to walk into Temple University Hospital

Philadelphia, PA – A late-night shooting sent a man to Temple University Hospital on Tuesday after he walked in with a gunshot wound to his left knee, police said.

Officers from the 25th District responded around 10:45 p.m. after hospital staff reported the arrival of the victim. The man, whose identity has not been released, was listed in stable condition.

According to police, the victim told investigators he had been shot near 6th Street and Hunting Park Avenue. Detectives later located a crime scene on the 4200 block of North 6th Street, just north of Hunting Park Avenue.

The victim’s vehicle, parked outside the hospital’s emergency department, bore multiple bullet holes on both sides, suggesting more than one round had been fired during the incident.

No arrests have been made, and investigators have not determined a motive. The Philadelphia Police Shooting Investigation Group is leading the case.
