Gunman in Rufus King Park Drug Deal Gone Wrong Shooting Gets 19 Years in Prison

QUEENS, NY – Torren King, 20, of Far Rockaway, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter regarding a 2020 shooting in Rufus King Park.

The incident, resulting from a botched marijuana deal, led to the death of 22-year-old Numani Lambert.

According to the details of the case, King shot Lambert during the day in the park after an unsuccessful drug transaction.

Lambert was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries three days later. The murder weapon, a 9mm Luger, was later recovered from a co-defendant’s residence.

Two other suspects associated with the incident are awaiting trial.
