PITTSBURGH, PA – Seven illegal firearms were taken off the streets this week following two search warrants executed by Allegheny County Police’s Violent Crimes and Firearms team.
The first raid occurred in Rankin, resulting in the seizure of three firearms and a small quantity of marijuana.
The second warrant, carried out in Mt. Oliver, uncovered four more guns—two of which were stolen—along with drugs.
The Rankin operation led to the arrest of two individuals, with a third suspect currently being sought. In the Mt. Oliver search, officers seized approximately three pounds of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, and four firearms. No arrests have been made yet in that case, but an arrest warrant is pending. Officials are not releasing names due to the ongoing nature of the investigations.
The department’s Violent Crimes and Firearms team continues to target illegal weapon possession and narcotics trafficking in Allegheny County. The seizures are part of a wider initiative aimed at curbing gun-related violence in communities across the region.
