Gunshot victim checks himself into hospital after Beryl Ave. attack

Baltimore, MD — A 31-year-old man turned up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound early Saturday, prompting an investigation into an overnight shooting on Beryl Avenue in Southeast Baltimore.

Medical staff alerted authorities around 1:05 a.m. after the man arrived on foot, suffering from a gunshot wound described as non-life-threatening. Officers responded to the hospital shortly after the report came in.

The victim told investigators he was shot in the 2600 block of Beryl Avenue, but details surrounding the incident remain limited. Detectives have not yet identified a suspect or motive.

The Southeast District is handling the investigation. Police have not disclosed whether the man was targeted or caught in crossfire.
