Gunshot victim dies at hospital as Baltimore police search for shooter

BALTIMORE, MD — A 30-year-old man is dead following an early morning shooting in the Western District, according to Baltimore Police.

Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of North Monroe Street at approximately 3:28 a.m. on December 1 in response to a shot-spotter alert. Shortly afterward, police received a call from a local hospital reporting a walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment.

Upon arriving at the hospital, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. Despite receiving medical attention, the man was pronounced dead a short time later by hospital staff.

Investigators determined that the shooting occurred on North Monroe Street, where the victim was shot before being transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.
