Gunshot Victim in Critical Condition; Suspect in Custody After Shooting Near Corday Way and Pearl Street

PITTSBURGH, PA – Yesterday at around 2:35 p.m., officers in Zone 5 responded to multiple Shotspotter alerts in the area of Corday Way and Pearl Street. Upon arrival, police, fire, and EMS discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A nearby house also sustained damage from the gunfire, and shell casings were found at the scene. Authorities have taken one person into custody and recovered a firearm in connection with the incident. The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) is currently investigating the shooting.
