HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit apprehended Anmerlene Demetroudis, a 59-year-old Guttenberg woman, on Wednesday. The arrest came in the wake of an investigation into Demetroudis’s failure to report income to several government agencies.

Demetroudis is charged with one count of Theft by Deception, a third-degree crime, after neglecting to report her earnings as a home health aide. This deception resulted in an overpayment of more than $20,000 in benefits from various entities, including the Social Security Administration and the Medicaid Benefit Program, between June 2020 and November 2022. She was later released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, July 25.
