Hackettstown Man Charged with DUI After Hitting Parked Car

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A 67-year-old Independence Township man was arrested for driving under the influence following an incident on Main Street. The Hackettstown Police Department reported that on June 2, they responded to a call at around 5:02 PM concerning an erratic vehicle driving on the sidewalk, which eventually collided with a parked vehicle near West Plane Street.

Upon arrival, officers observed the driver, Bipen Patel, exiting his vehicle. An investigation confirmed that Patel was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He has been charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Following the charges, Patel was released and is scheduled to appear in court to respond to these allegations.
