Hamburg Man Convicted in 2021 Tavern Assault and Death

ERIE COUNTY, NY – William J. Giambelluca, 34, of Hamburg, has been found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree and Robbery in the First Degree.

The jury delivered their verdict after approximately three hours of deliberation following a five-day trial.

The victim, 67-year-old John E. Rados, Sr., was assaulted and robbed on November 22, 2021, as he was leaving a tavern on Lake Shore Road in the Village of Blasdell.

The Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Giambelluca faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison and will be sentenced on Friday, October 13, at 9:30 a.m. The case was investigated by the Town of Hamburg Police Department.
