HARRISBURG, PA – Thomas Wiley Jr., 30, of Harrisburg, received a sentence of 7 to 15 years in state prison on Wednesday for dealing fentanyl-laced cocaine that led to the death of Francis C. March IV, aged 55.
Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth issued the sentence following a jury’s guilty verdict on February 8, 2023.
Assistant District Attorney Christopher Miller presented the case, arguing Wiley Jr.’s multiple drug convictions and substantial criminal history outweighed the unintended outcome.
Wiley Jr., who claimed a friendship with the victim, extended an apology to the victim’s family and asked for forgiveness.
Elizabethtown Police were called to South Market Street on June 25, 2019, due to an unexpected death.
The victim’s girlfriend was concerned after failing to hear from March for two days. The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office later confirmed the cause of death as multiple drug toxicity. The jury deliberated for three hours before reaching their verdict.
