HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced charges against Eliut Lopez Enriquez, a 56-year-old nurse, following allegations of abuse and neglect at The Gardens at Blue Ridge, a skilled nursing facility in Susquehanna Township.
Enriquez was taken into custody on Tuesday.
According to the investigation, on March 17, 2022, Nurse Lopez Enriquez allegedly assaulted an 80-year-old male patient while attending to his wound dressings.
This incident reportedly caused the patient severe pain and a heightened risk of infection. The victim was later admitted to a hospital for various medical issues and passed away on May 5, 2022.
Deputy Attorney General Lishani S. Sunday will prosecute the case. All charges are accusations, and the defendant remains innocent until proven guilty.
