Hartford woman arrested in connection to missing Florida roommate’s suspected murder

HARTFORD, Conn. — A Hartford woman has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the disappearance and suspected killing of her roommate in Orlando, Florida, authorities announced.

Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, was taken into custody on November 6 after police linked her to the disappearance of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, 42, who was last seen on Christmas Day 2022.

Victoria-Gonzalez initially reported Medina-Pacheco missing on December 27, 2022, telling Orlando police that she had not seen her roommate in days. However, detectives later uncovered inconsistencies in Victoria-Gonzalez’s account, prompting further investigation.

A search warrant executed at the roommates’ shared residence on Curry Ford Road in Orlando led to the discovery of what authorities described as significant evidence of a violent incident.

Orlando police eventually located Victoria-Gonzalez in Hartford, nearly 1,200 miles from the crime scene. Following an interview and a review of gathered evidence, officers arrested her on murder charges. Body camera footage from the arrest shows police communicating with Victoria-Gonzalez in Spanish through a translator due to her limited English proficiency.

Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been found. The Orlando Police Department continues to seek information regarding her whereabouts.
