Hazlet Man Arrested for Eluding Police in Holmdel

Holmdel, NJ – A Hazlet resident was arrested on Friday, February 2, after attempting to flee from a Holmdel Township police officer during a routine traffic stop. At approximately 8:14 p.m., Patrolman Keith Pettway attempted to stop a motor vehicle, which then fled the scene. Adhering to the current Attorney General Guidelines, Ptl. Pettway did not engage in pursuit of the fleeing vehicle.

The driver, identified as 61-year-old Kenneth Reid of Hazlet, was later apprehended at the Shoprite in Hazlet. Reid was arrested for attempting to elude police, processed, and subsequently lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. In addition to the charges related to eluding police, Reid faces multiple motor vehicle offenses.
