Heated domestic dispute led to gunfire in DC, leaving five injured and one man under arrest.

WASHINGTON, DC — A shooting during a domestic altercation Friday night in Northeast DC left five people injured and resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect, police said.

The incident unfolded around 8:18 p.m. on the 1500 block of Harry Thomas Way NE. Officers arrived to find two adult males and an adult female with gunshot wounds; all three were transported to a hospital by DC Fire and EMS for treatment.

Two additional adult males with non-life-threatening injuries later transported themselves to a hospital. Investigators determined that one of the men seeking treatment was responsible for the shooting.

The suspect, identified as Deamonte Bridgeforth of Northeast DC, was arrested and charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (gun). Detectives confirmed the shooting was domestic in nature and occurred during an argument between the suspect and one of the victims.
