Heavy Fire Response at Second Avenue Commons

PITTSBURGH, PA—A significant public safety operation unfolded yesterday after smoke was reported emanating from the roof of the Second Avenue Commons housing complex.

The incident prompted a robust response from various sheriff’s office personnel. Lieutenant Kevin Faulds, Sergeant Mike LaPorte, and Deputy Tylar Shoemaker were quick to enter the building, aiding in evacuating residents and ensuring all floors were cleared.

Deputy Bob Chambers, Deputy Lori Dobrosielski, and Deputy Tyler Weinstein played crucial roles in securing the scene, managing public safety, and directing traffic to allow emergency vehicles to access the area efficiently.

Deputies James Hatcher, Dan Tyner, Calvin Cygrymus, and Erik Hart ensured that operations within the Municipal Courts Building across the street continued without disruption.
