Frederick crisis response team raced to help as frightened 12-year-old daughter watched rescue unfold
FREDERICK, Md. — A Maryland woman is expected to make a full recovery after members of Frederick Police Department’s Crisis Response Team rushed to save her life during a serious crash caused by a cardiac emergency.
The Frederick Police Department said the incident happened last week when Crisis Response Team members arrived at the crash scene before fire and EMS crews.
Authorities said EMT Ben McGinnis immediately deployed an automated external defibrillator after discovering the woman was suffering a cardiac emergency.
Police said McGinnis helped restore the woman’s heartbeat, ultimately saving her life.
As emergency crews worked to stabilize the woman, Mental Health Association team member Rachel Lambert stayed with the victim’s 12-year-old daughter, offering support and comfort during the traumatic incident.
Officer Hall also coordinated the crash scene and assisted the Crisis Response Team during the emergency response.
According to police, the combined efforts of the team are credited with helping save the woman’s life.
The Frederick Police Department said the woman is expected to fully recover.
