Hiker Rescued After Falling Off Cliff in Harriman State Park

WOODBURY, NY – A hiker was airlifted to a hospital after suffering severe injuries from a 25-foot fall off a cliff in Harriman State Park, Orange County, as reported by local fire officials.

The incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 24, around 7:15 p.m. The Woodbury Fire Department stated that the hiker fell while navigating the park, resulting in a broken leg and jaw.

Rescue teams located the hiker approximately a mile and a half into the woods. After stabilization, the injured individual was carried out of the forest and subsequently flown to a medical facility. The current condition of the hiker has not been disclosed.
