TOMS RIVER-The Holbrook Little League All-Stars edged one game closer to a section 3 title on Wednesday after defeating North Howell Little League 2-1 in their second game of the 2019 Section 3 Tournament.
With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning and two runners on, Nicholas LoVacco singled left field driving in the game-winning run. Ray Lehmann, who was on third base after advancing on a wild pitch scored easily to give Holbrook the win.
LoVacco also drove in Holbrook’s only other run in the game on 1-1 pitch that he popped out to centerfield, scoring Jack Osmond.
