Homeless Man Arrested for Strangling Woman Inside Gas Station Bathroom

MARTIN COUNTY — In a shocking attack at a Martin County convenience store/gas station, a female employee was strangled by a homeless man, resulting in her losing consciousness. The assailant, 34-year-old Israel Graham, listed as homeless, perpetrated the unprovoked attack in the women’s restroom.

Graham entered the restroom, assaulted the woman by choking her, and despite her attempts to resist, she began to lose consciousness. Witnesses who heard the disturbance entered the restroom and found Graham on top of the victim with his hands around her neck. Graham fled the scene immediately after being discovered.

Responding deputies and detectives were provided with a detailed description and video footage of Graham entering and exiting the store. Their swift action led to Graham’s arrest shortly after the attack. He has been charged with Felony Battery and is currently detained at the Martin County jail.
