Homeowner Shot in Hope Mills Armed Home Invasion

HOPE MILLS, N.C. – A dispute following a reported break-in in Hope Mills resulted in two people being shot in their hands.

The Hope Mills Police Department responded to a residence off Crimson Way around 3:50 a.m. and found the homeowner with a gunshot injury to their hand.

The resident reported that an individual, known to them, had forcibly entered the home armed with a handgun.

A scuffle ensued, during which the gun discharged, injuring both the intruder and the resident. The alleged intruder subsequently fled the scene.

Police Chief Stephan Dollinger stated that as of now, no charges have been filed. The investigation continues as officers work to gather more details about the incident.
