Houston Police investigating fatal shooting

HOUSTON, TX – January 20, 2022 – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10900 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday (January 19).   The identity of the victim, 35 to 40 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Smith and Detective M. Estep reported:   The victim was in the area of the service road near the above address and Hartsook Street when he was approached by an unknown suspect.  The victim was shot multiple times and the suspect fled on foot to a waiting black, four-door sedan of unknown make or model. The vehicle left northbound on the Gulf Freeway service road. 

Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.   The suspect is described only as a black male with dark complexion, 20 to 25 years of age, and mid-length black hair with twists.   Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.   VHS/JKS  1-20-22
