HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Howell Township Councilwoman Pam Richmond urged residents to take their facemasks and throw them in the trash and visit their local businesses. She took her message to the airwaves on NJ 101.5 and doubled down on her advocacy saying she will continue to push to end the state’s mask mandate.
Richmond said she has since been under fire by “mask supporters”. The Howell GOP distanced themselves from their fellow party member shortly after the interview.
“Regarding Councilwoman Richmond’s interview, we support her right to the first amendment, as we support everyone’s,” the Howell Township Republican Club said in a statement. “Everyone has the right to be heard! As a club, we recognize that there are many varied opinions as to the wearing of masks. That being said, we will continue to adhere to CDC guidelines and local regulations for the health and safety or our members and the public.”
Richmond came under fire in 2020 during the election for a past DWI arrest she claims happened during her “dark times” in life.
