Hyattsville man killed in single-car crash in Adelphi

ADELPHI, Md. — A 23-year-old man from Hyattsville died early Sunday morning after crashing into a utility pole on New Hampshire Avenue, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Olvin Canan Agustin was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision, which occurred around 3:40 a.m. near Metzerott Road.

Police say the vehicle was traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue when it left the roadway and struck the pole. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is handling the case.
