I-68 shut down in Allegany County due to tractor trailer fire

CUMBERLAND, MD – I-68 eastbound heading into Cumberland has been shut down as police and firefighters respond to a tractor-trailer fire. All eastbound lanes are closed. Rubbernecking in the westbound lanes is causing traffic delays.

Police advise motorists to avoid the area for the next few hours and plan an alternate route.

At this time, no reports of injuries have been made by police.
