ICE arrests illegal alien sex trafficker in Buffalo, pending removal

BUFFALO, N.Y. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Julio Cesar Diaz Martinez in Buffalo on charges of sex trafficking and overstaying a visa, according to an ICE announcement.

Diaz Martinez was taken into custody on January 23 by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Buffalo/Massena unit. Officials stated that his arrest is part of ongoing efforts to target individuals involved in human trafficking and immigration violations. He is currently pending removal proceedings.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the case or the scope of Diaz Martinez’s alleged trafficking activities. ICE has emphasized that individuals charged with crimes while violating immigration laws are subject to detention and potential deportation.

HSI Buffalo/Massena continues to work with local and federal agencies to identify and apprehend individuals engaged in human trafficking and related offenses. It remains unclear when a final decision on Diaz Martinez’s immigration status will be made.
