Man Arrested for Assault in Ocean County with Active Immigration Detainer

OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. — Ruben Perez Romero, a 33-year-old male, is being held in Ocean County following his commitment to custody on Sunday.

Court records show Perez Romero faces a single charge under New Jersey code 2C:12-1A(1), which involves attempting to purposely or knowingly cause bodily injury to another person. According to the state’s grading system, the charge is classified as a fourth-degree offense.
