Illegal ATV Riders Beware: Suffolk County Police Crack Down on Illegal Riders

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – The Suffolk County Police Department participated in a Pine Barrens ATV Task Force enforcement event last weekend in an effort to curb illegal ATV use. Focusing on illegal street riding in Middle Island and illegal use on Greenway Trail in Port Jefferson, the Task Force issued 21 summonses and impounded three ATVs and one dirt bike.

Suffolk County Police will continue to work with the Pine Barrens ATV Task Force to address ongoing concerns about illegal ATV usage and the associated risks to public safety. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies aims to reduce dangerous and unauthorized activities on public roads and trails.
