Illegal Dumping by Holbrook Couple Leads to Guilty Plea

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. – Fabio Monasterolo, 51, and Judith Monasterolo, 55, residents of Holbrook, admitted to Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree after being accused of unlawfully dumping waste near tidal wetlands.

The dumping took place in Brookhaven.

The incident, which took place on April 23, was captured on camera by a citizen.

As part of their plea agreement, the Monasterolos are obligated to cover clean-up costs, finance a clean-up crew for the tidal wetlands, participate in a tree-planting initiative.

Additionally, they are obligated to issue an apology to the individual who recorded their illicit activities.
