Indiana man accused of using plastic wrap in alleged attempt to kill mother

NEW CASTLE, Ind. — An Indiana man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly attempting to suffocate his mother with plastic wrap during a violent confrontation over missing money, police said.

Dylan Moles, 27, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, domestic battery, and strangulation following the Nov. 29 attack, according to court documents obtained by local news outlet WXIN.

Authorities say the incident began as an argument between Moles and his mother over $1,000 he claimed she stole from his CashApp account. The dispute escalated into physical violence, with Moles allegedly punching and kneeing his mother in the head before attempting to suffocate her with a sheet of plastic wrap, investigators said.

Moles reportedly told police that the attack was motivated by his desire to “convince her that he was not a little boy and that she couldn’t push him around.” The alleged assault came just weeks after Moles had been released from jail on bond for an unrelated offense, according to police.

The victim’s condition has not been disclosed, but authorities confirmed she survived the attack. Moles remains in custody as he awaits further legal proceedings.
