Philadelphia, PA – A 2-month-old girl was pronounced dead this morning after being found unresponsive inside a home on Mechanic Street, police said.

Officers and medics responded to the residence at approximately 7:45 a.m. and immediately began efforts to save the child. She was transported to Einstein Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her deceased at 8:41 a.m.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and investigators said the circumstances remain under review. Authorities have not released the child’s identity.
